PICTURE
SPACE
Key
Words:
Picture Frame, Horizon Line, Depth, Foreground, Middle ground, Background.
We always start
out with warm-ups.
PICTURE
FRAME
Begin
drawing a box, square, or rectangle, this is our picture frame.
Be interested in everything that is inside the lines
The picture frame helps us focus, it separates our art from the desk
and other things in our immediate environment.

HORIZON LINE

The horizon line
divides a space into sky and earth.
A
question to ask is: How do we draw something far away, something up
close?
Things far away are smaller and closer to the horizon line.
Things up close are larger, fill up more of the picture, can have a
thicker outline,
and even go past our picture frame.

the HORIZON LINE can be
above the figure. We could be looking down at them,
or they could be in front of a hill.

Look what happens when our Horizon Line goes below our
figure.
Our person is flying.
