The Patron Saint
of the Forest Fires
Tahoe Arts Festival, CA
12 x 12 feet June 23 - 24, 2001

With Special help from Diane Sherman

I was originally going to create the same piece of art I did 2 weeks ago down in San Rafael. But there was a very large forest fire near-by on Mt. Rose which had everyone who lived in the area tense. I also felt something wierd inside me when I mentioned a burning animal. Shortly afterwards I realized to much excitement that I would alter the art and place a burning forest in the Patron Saint's hands and have her tears putting out the fire. Yes...that worked. How wonderful to make art so present to the moment. We felt very connected and humbled with the experience.
