The road is both smooth and bumpy so hold on tight, let go, and come along for the ride. What will you need? A good heart, a few minutes, some courage, a lot of art medicine, a sketch book, and the re-membering of how to play and create a new world with every breath you take! May you be blessed more than ever!

When I want
to create something that can only be created by painting it,
drawing it, making it directly on the walls, something that I will
appreciate all the more because I cannot take it with me when I go
(kinda like life and all in it!), something I appreciate just where it
is because I cannot move it (although I CAN change it, improve it,
destroy it, enhance it, etc.). When I want to create an impromtu work of
art with friends, children (mine and/or others). When I realize that
it's something that can easily be gone over with paint, but if done with
panache, why would I? rd
When I am on
the phone I have been known to write and doodle on the wall.
My ex-husband did not like that habit at all.
I write or draw on a wall if other people have defaced it already. ds

When do you
write or draw on the walls?
sometimes I can't keep my fingers off the chalk when I'm
in my son's room. We were just talking about doing
a grafittie piece on his wall. bg
First when you're three years old and your parents aren't looking. After getting reprimanded, you don't try again until you are teenager and tired of hearing only reprimands. It feels great and just as powerful as the first time too. Later freedom is recognized outside those four familiar walls, so the canvas expands to the outside world. Eventually a more subdued lifestyle descends as you look toward creating a new set of four familiar walls. Then the power of remodeling takes over, and once again you are free to vent your latent rebellion and scribble all over those walls. But it remains only until demolition time, because you know the reprimands are sure to follow. ld
Hmm - only rarely. Right before demolition. Not very artistic, I'm afraid... jh

I haven't written
on the wall for a long time, though I drew upon a piece of paper, on the
wall for over 12 years.
Now I paint. On wood, on a drafting table, arched over the work for a long
as I can
possibly stand the physical needs of it every day.
The last time I wrote on the wall, on its paint, was about a year ago...someone's
phone
number and the name of a magazine, just before I went to Italy looking for
clocks and
trees in May. cr

when I am young.
when I was five or so and we moved into a new
home, I had learned to make a check mark(¯). I had never learned to make
anything so kewl and so I was very excited. I learned it from all the moving
boxes that had a check mark on the side of them.
I picked up the big indelible marker and started checking off everything I
could. I had done most things in the house, including the piano seat before
they caught me.
The last time I drew on the walls was in Santa Cruz. I was in recovery from
some massive shamanic healing. Penniless, and living in a house that was
going to be renovated, I go a hold of some paints and filled the walls with
my hopes and visions. tf
