SAVE as you GO
As I began to work on the poster, I tried something new in how I create. I
took SNAPSHOTS of my screen as I worked. With my MAC I used the command/shift/3
keys. The computer makes a camera sound and on my hard drive there appears a
"Picture" file, which I can easily open in Photoshop and then "crop." I created
65 snapshots in two short sessions. Not all the images are that great. But I
did "save" whenever I found something interesting.
I found that the last several images were the one I showed my client. The client picked several pieces and we combined them to create the final image. Final Poster : the BOOK of STARS
Give this way of working a try.I found it very fluid and an easy way to document the creative process. The "Picture" is 72 dpi. which is easy to post on the web or email to show clients and friends. (I dont' know the keyboard shortcut for a PC - email me if you do). Enjoy!!!
